ARCIL Issue Alert - January 2012

Big Changes in Rural Transportation

People with disabilities in rural Central Texas will have an opportunity to get more and better transportation services due to changes happening this year.

Don't let this opportunity go to waste.

If you live in Bastrop, Bell, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Comal, Hays, Lee, Milam, Travis, or Williamson County - and outside the area served by Capital Metro - it is time to start working on improving public transportation, based on your travel needs.

City and county leaders, CARTS, Capital Metro, and others all around Central Texas are planning for NEW public transportation services. Tell us about your travel needs - work, shopping, medical appointments, etc.

We have a new U.S. Census, and we live in a fast-growing area, which means more federal money for transportation. Some cities will receive transportation money directly for the first time. Your city leaders need to hear about your travel needs. Don't let others decide for you.
