The goal of this committee is to develop a plan for a seamless system that should achieve efficiencies, eliminate duplication, increase coordination, and address service gaps.
The people of the Capital Area are constantly on the move. Every element of the transportation network is straining to meet ever-growing demand. There are many public transportation providers that operate either general public transit or client-based transportation services throughout the Capital Area.
A coordinated transportation system efficiently provides comprehensive and user-friendly public and private transportation services. Transportation programs share resources, facilities, and information; and coordinate trip reservations, scheduling, dispatching, and passenger trips.
The RTCC outreach program is designed to involve the stakeholders and general public in the coordination of public transportation. There will be several workshops over the next six months to gain input from the public.
