LETTER TO THE STATESMAN
ARCIL, Inc.
Feb. 29, 2012
Re: "Kyle, San Marcos, Texas State University eye transit district with more bus service" Ciara O'Rourke, Austin American-Statesman (see below)
The lack of public transportation, in San Marcos, Kyle and elsewhere throughout the region, poses a persistent barrier to people with disabilities in accessing employment, health care and all aspects of community participation. Through our offices in San Marcos and Round Rock, ARCIL strives to educate and organize people with disabilities to work for new and better services in our region.
MY MEDICAID MATTERS!!!
What is going on with Medicaid?
There is a push at both the state and local levels to make big cuts to the Medicaid program.
Why does My Medicaid Matter?
Medicaid provides health care and long term care services to over 4 million children, pregnant women, and adults with disabilities in Texas. Medicaid is critical to everyone receiving SSI and most people in group homes or receiving home health services.

Big Changes in Rural Transportation
People with disabilities in rural Central Texas will have an opportunity to get more and better transportation services due to changes happening this year.
Don't let this opportunity go to waste.
If you live in Bastrop, Bell, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Comal, Hays, Lee, Milam, Travis, or Williamson County - and outside the area served by Capital Metro - it is time to start working on improving public transportation, based on your travel needs.
